PROGRAMS AND SERVICES
- Crisis Prevention and Emergency Services - direct cash assistance and counseling provided to eligible households to assist with alleviating a crisis by helping them to increase their potential for stability and progress towards self-sufficiency. When available, funds are used to prevent evictions, foreclosures and utility services disconnection. Eligibility criteria must be met and funds may be limited. Referral for clients are made to other agencies as needed.
- Case Management Services - provided in conjunction with crisis prevention and emergency services.
- Senoir Grocery (Brown Bag) Program - this is an income based program that provides monthly groceries for senior citizens, 65 and older, to offset the cost of food and to provide nutritual awareness.

Commodities Distributions (TEFAP -Temporary Emergency Food Assistance Program) - food is distributed on a first come, first serve basis to low income households in Barrow County. Eligibility is based on income and household size. Usually there are three distributions per year. Distributions are usually held March, June and August or September. The Barrow County Action collobrates with Winder Housing Authority and Custom Industries to ensure that their elderly and disable clients are assisted.

Weatherization Intake/General Housing Counseling - complete intake and application for the weatherization program. The goal of the program is to make low-income families' homes more comfortable and energy efficient. Eligibility is based on income level and family size, with priority given to the elderly and disabled.
